| Updated On: 09-Sep-2025 @ 1:18 pmThe Meghalaya government has sanctioned ₹6.17 crore for 10,346 Scheduled Tribe students under the Post-Matric Scholarship scheme for the 2024–25 session, marking the second installment through the Centre’s Umbrella Scholarship initiative. The scheme covers students pursuing professional, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. The state needs a total of ₹102.4 crore to support all 60,226 eligible students, but delays in Aadhaar and bank account linkage have limited disbursement. The Centre releases funds in phases, and the state, under CM Conrad K. Sangma’s direction, will release its share. Pending scholarships will be distributed in the latter half of the 2025–26 financial year.
