| Updated On: 27-Sep-2025 @ 12:32 pmTripura has launched an organic mushroom cultivation initiative to boost self-sufficiency in mushroom production, announced Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on September 26. The launch coincided with the state’s first training workshop on organic mushroom farming at Nagichhara, attended by 53 Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs). Highlighting mushrooms as a nutrient-rich “superfood,” Nath noted that while the state is self-sufficient in milk, rice, fish, and eggs, it still depends on imports for mushrooms. The program aims to integrate mushrooms into 26,000 hectares of organic crops, promoting sustainable agriculture, economic growth, and Tripura’s expanding organic exports.
