The revision, starting November 4, will involve 5.33 lakh booth-level officers conducting door-to-door verification, with the draft roll published on December 9 and the final list on February 7, 2026. The SIR aims to ensure accurate voter data, addressing issues like migration, duplicate entries, and ineligible voters. Assam is excluded due to the ongoing NRC process. The EC said the move follows persistent complaints about electoral roll inaccuracies.
