He noted that while India has strengthened infrastructure, regulation, and digital/logistical backbones over the past decade, manufacturing remains underperforming. The Cabinet note for the National Manufacturing Mission (NMM), aimed at boosting manufacturing’s GDP share to 25%, is underway. The mission will emphasize clusters, domestic value chains, clean-tech industries, upskilling, MSMEs, and technology adoption, building on Make in India initiatives.
