Chhattisgarh Inaugurates New Assembly Complex Highlighting Tribal Heritage

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Chhattisgarh’s new Rs 324-crore Legislative Assembly in New Raipur on November 1, marking the state’s silver jubilee. Spread over 51 acres, the eco-friendly complex reflects tribal culture with Bastar and Surguja art, handcrafted furniture, and motifs symbolizing the “Rice Bowl of India.” The structure includes solar power, rainwater harvesting, and landscaped gardens. It comprises three wings for the Secretariat, Assembly, and ministers, alongside hospitals, a bank, auditorium, and parking for 850 vehicles. Dedicated facilities for persons with disabilities and transgender individuals highlight inclusivity and sustainability in the modern design.
