Singapore Submits Zubeen Garg’s Post-Mortem Report to Assam SIT; Chargesheet Expected by December 17

Singapore authorities have sent singer Zubeen Garg’s post-mortem and toxicology reports to the Assam Police, advancing the investigation into his September 19 death. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that the SIT, which arrested seven people, will file the chargesheet by December 17 under the 90-day deadline. He said Singapore cooperated under the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty. Sarma assured justice for Zubeen while emphasizing that other key state issues remain priorities. He also accused the Congress of “trying to make Assam a part of Bangladesh” after a Seva Dal event controversy and reiterated focus on issues like love jihad and land encroachment.
