Assam CM Hails Judicial Probe into Zubeen’s Death as a ‘Landmark Move for Truth and Justice’

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the formation of a Judicial Commission to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of iconic singer Zubeen Garg. Headed by a sitting Gauhati High Court judge, the commission will examine all aspects of the incident, fulfilling public demand for an independent inquiry. Sarma described it as a “landmark step in the pursuit of truth and justice” and urged citizens to cooperate for a transparent and impartial investigation. Zubeen’s untimely death at 52 left Assam and the Northeast in mourning, prompting calls for accountability and a thorough probe into the singer’s demise.
