Assam Cabinet Clears Asom Mala 3.0 Project with ₹3,217-Crore Investment

The Assam Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, approved major developmental initiatives worth over ₹4,000 crore. Key decisions include the launch of Asom Mala 3.0, a ₹3,217-crore road infrastructure project covering 883 km and 36 bridges across 34 districts. The Cabinet also sanctioned ₹765 crore to redevelop the RG Baruah Sports Complex into a world-class facility. A Community-Led Riverbank Protection Policy was approved to address flood and erosion challenges. The government will publish the Tewary Commission Report on the 1983 Assam disturbances and introduced special casual leave under Matri Pitri Vandana to encourage family bonding.
