Revealed at the Quantum Developer Conference in New York, the chip complements high-performance quantum software and is expected to be available to users by year-end. IBM also introduced an experimental processor for quantum error correction, a faster software stack, a quantum advantage tracker, and a facility for 300mm quantum wafers. These developments aim to enable fault-tolerant quantum computing by 2029, overcoming errors caused by environmental interactions. IBM emphasizes its leadership in scaling software, hardware, fabrication, and error correction for transformative applications.
