Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said earlier verification during medical admissions revealed major irregularities, prompting the government to separate community lists for the Barak and Brahmaputra regions. Similar strict verification will now be applied to government recruitment. Sarma stressed that benefits must reach the genuine youths of tea garden communities. He added on Twitter that the new policy will ensure only eligible individuals receive the 3% reservation and related support.
