Educational Journey of Gopinath Bordoloi

Gopinath Bordoloi was born in 1890 in Nagaon, Assam. He believed that education was the key to leadership and service. He started his early schooling in local village schools, where he cultivated a love for learning, discipline, and community service. Bordoloi then attended Cotton Collegiate School in Guwahati, where he built a solid foundation in humanities and social sciences. He went on to study at Presidency College and the University of Calcutta, where he earned a law degree. His academic training, combined with curiosity and strong moral values, prepared him to become Assam’s first Chief Minister and a forward-thinking leader committed to social and political progress.
