On October 28, Tesam Pongte, Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, inaugurated several infrastructure projects in Yatdam Circle, Changlang district, with a particular emphasis on enhancing educational facilities in remote villages. The centerpiece of the inauguration was the new eight-room reinforced concrete building for the Government Upper Primary School in Watlom Village, accompanied by a four-room teachers’ quarters to provide better accommodation for staff. The improved infrastructure aims to create a conducive learning environment and enhance teaching conditions in the area.

Other notable projects included a five-room school building for the Government Primary School in Kangkho Village, alongside a two-unit teachers’ bachelor barrack, which will serve as accommodation for teaching staff. Additionally, a community hall was inaugurated at Kangla Village, offering a multipurpose space for local gatherings, events, and community development activities. These projects collectively signify a strong focus on strengthening the educational and social infrastructure of remote villages in the Yatdam Circle.

During the ceremony, Pongte also distributed solar lanterns and sports equipment to students from both Watlom and Kangkho schools. The initiative is aimed at promoting the use of renewable energy in schools and encouraging physical activity among young people in the circle. This reflects a holistic approach to education, integrating both academic and extracurricular development, while also fostering awareness about sustainable energy solutions in rural areas.

The event was attended by a wide range of stakeholders, including administrative officers, public representatives, heads of various departments, and local leaders from across Changlang district. Their presence highlighted the collective effort and commitment of the state administration and local community in advancing educational infrastructure and rural development in the region.

Following the inauguration, Speaker Pongte conducted an inspection of the ongoing road widening project between Watlom and Thamiyang villages. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high-quality standards during construction and ensuring that project deadlines are met, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to improving rural connectivity. This road infrastructure project is expected to significantly enhance accessibility to educational institutions and other essential services, further supporting the socio-economic development of the region.

Overall, these infrastructure initiatives represent a substantial investment in the rural development of Yatdam Circle’s scattered villages. By improving school facilities, providing adequate accommodation for teachers, and enhancing community spaces, the projects aim to create a sustainable, high-quality educational environment. The combination of school construction, teachers’ housing, community halls, and support for renewable energy and sports activities indicates a comprehensive approach to rural development. These efforts not only improve the quality of education but also contribute to community cohesion, youth engagement, and overall socio-economic progress in Changlang district.

Through these measures, the Arunachal Pradesh government, under the guidance of the Legislative Assembly and Speaker Tesam Pongte, is fostering equitable access to education, modern infrastructure, and community development in remote villages, reinforcing its commitment to long-term rural growth and educational empowerment.
