Parnaik (Retd.) and Chief Minister Pema Khandu held an extensive discussion at Raj Bhavan, centered on advancing technology-driven governance, empowering the youth, and promoting sports development across the state. The meeting underscored the government’s collective commitment to building an inclusive, transparent, and progressive development model rooted in innovation and sustainability.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Khandu briefed the Governor about his recent visit to Japan. He highlighted that the visit focused on exploring new avenues for collaboration in areas such as skill development, vocational training, and employment exchange programs. These initiatives aim to benefit the youth of Arunachal Pradesh by preparing them for the rapidly changing job market and enhancing their participation in global industries. The Chief Minister also discussed upcoming programs designed to equip young people with skills suited for emerging economic sectors, enabling them to compete effectively in both national and international arenas.
Governor Parnaik, while appreciating these efforts, emphasized the importance of integrating advanced technology into governance and development monitoring. He particularly stressed the need to adopt geospatial technology-aided monitoring systems to ensure transparency and accountability in developmental works. Such systems, he noted, would help in the precise and verifiable tracking of project progress, thereby reducing discrepancies and delays. He further suggested that the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC), Shillong, could provide crucial technical support to the state. With NESAC’s expertise in satellite-based mapping and real-time data analysis, the state could significantly improve planning, implementation, and dispute resolution in infrastructure and social welfare projects.
Another key focus area of the meeting was youth and sports development. The Governor acknowledged the role of sports in shaping discipline, teamwork, and leadership among the youth and in contributing to the state’s overall growth. He advocated for a more robust sports development framework that would identify and nurture young talent at the grassroots level. To achieve this, he recommended strengthening the Arunachal Olympic Association, introducing sports medicine to enhance athlete performance and safety, and organizing district and inter-district level competitions regularly to encourage wider participation.
Both the Governor and the Chief Minister concluded the meeting by reaffirming their shared vision of an inclusive, citizen-centric, and technology-enabled development strategy. They expressed their commitment to fostering innovation, empowering youth, and building a self-reliant Arunachal Pradesh that stands as a model of sustainable and participatory governance in the Northeast and beyond.
