Hyderabad-based Fabex Steel Structures has announced the commissioning of its second manufacturing unit at Chityal, located near Hyderabad. The new facility, built with an investment of Rs 120 crore and spanning 40 acres, represents a significant milestone in the company’s long-term capacity expansion and overall business strategy. This development underscores Fabex’s commitment to strengthening its production infrastructure and meeting the growing demand for pre-engineered buildings (PEBs) and structural steel solutions, both domestically and internationally.
The Chityal facility adds an annual production capacity of 50,000 metric tonnes (MT), raising Fabex’s total output across its two plants—including the existing high-capacity plant in Vijayawada—to 100,000 MT per year. This enhanced capacity positions the company to better serve domestic industrial projects and expanding global markets. Fabex’s Vijayawada plant already plays a pivotal role in fulfilling both domestic and export demand, and the addition of Chityal significantly strengthens the company’s ability to deliver large-scale pre-engineered structures.
Looking ahead, Fabex plans to invest an additional Rs 100 crore over the next 2–3 years to further boost manufacturing capabilities, drive automation, and introduce innovative processes. The Chityal unit will focus primarily on producing pre-engineered buildings for industrial applications, including factories, warehouses, and logistics infrastructure. Venu Chava, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Fabex Steel Structures, explained that this follow-on investment aligns with market momentum across the company’s product lines and will concentrate on automation, throughput enhancement, and product diversification.
I V Ramana Raju, Co-Founder and CEO of Fabex Steel Structures, emphasized that the company’s combined annual capacity of 100,000 MT allows Fabex to support multi-site PEB rollouts and turnkey design-to-installation projects across India and overseas. He further highlighted the company’s plans to diversify into new segments, reflecting a strategy of expansion and innovation.
Fabex currently has a turnover of Rs 463 crore and employs 400 people. As operations ramp up, the company plans to double its workforce to 800 employees, reflecting its growth ambitions. Fabex aims to achieve Rs 1,000 crore in revenue over the next three years, supported by a strong client retention rate of 70% and an expanding presence in international markets. The company exports to three continents, with key markets in North America, Africa, and the Middle East, and continues to actively explore new geographies to strengthen its global reach.
Founded in 2020, Fabex Steel Structures specializes in the design, detailing, fabrication, and installation of pre-engineered buildings and structural steel solutions. The company has quickly established itself as a significant player in the industrial construction sector, leveraging technological expertise, large-scale production capacity, and global outreach to meet the evolving needs of clients.
The commissioning of the Chityal plant not only enhances Fabex’s production capabilities but also reinforces its position as a competitive supplier of pre-engineered buildings and structural steel solutions. With strategic investments, a focus on innovation, and plans for global expansion, Fabex Steel Structures is well-positioned to cater to growing industrial infrastructure demands in India and abroad, strengthening its market presence and sustaining long-term growth.
