| Updated On: 19-Nov-2025 @ 2:35 pmReliance Jio, India’s largest telecom operator with over 500 million subscribers, has announced a significant upgrade to its artificial intelligence offerings through its ongoing partnership with Google. As part of this expansion, all Jio Unlimited 5G subscribers will now receive free access to Google’s newest foundational AI model, Gemini 3, widely recognized for its enhanced reasoning, problem-solving, and code-generation capabilities. This marks a major milestone in making cutting-edge AI tools accessible to millions across India.
The upgraded benefits are bundled into the Jio Gemini AI Pro Plan, which will be available at no additional cost for 18 months starting November 19. Importantly, the plan was initially restricted to subscribers between the ages of 18 and 25 when it was first introduced. However, Jio recently broadened the eligibility criteria, extending the offer to all Unlimited 5G subscribers, regardless of age. This strategic shift reflects Jio’s aim to democratize advanced AI technology and make powerful digital tools available to users across all age groups.
According to a statement issued by Jio, the upgrade brings two core changes: firstly, the transition from a youth-focused offer to one that includes the entire eligible 5G user base; and secondly, the addition of Google’s advanced Gemini 3 model, which significantly enhances the AI experience for users. Alongside Gemini 3, subscribers will also have free access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, another high-performance AI model known for its accuracy and versatility.
The plan also includes enhanced image and video generation limits, supported through tools such as Nano Banana and Veo 3.1, enabling users to create AI-generated media content with greater freedom. Beyond AI models and generative tools, subscribers will receive 2 TB of cloud storage distributed across Google Photos, Gmail, and Google Drive, providing ample space for digital data management. Additionally, the plan includes WhatsApp backup support for Android devices, making it easier for users to safeguard messages, media, and personal data.
One of the standout benefits of the upgraded package is free access to NotebookLM, Google’s AI-driven research and study assistant designed to help users read, analyze, and summarize documents efficiently. Taken together, Jio estimates that the combined value of all these services amounts to roughly ₹35,100, underscoring the substantial cost savings for subscribers.
This enhanced AI bundle highlights India’s rapidly growing importance in the global artificial intelligence landscape. With more than one billion internet users, India is now the world’s second-largest online market, making it an essential region for AI-driven companies such as Google, OpenAI, and Perplexity. Earlier this year, Perplexity partnered with Bharti Airtel to offer free access to Perplexity Pro for Airtel’s 360 million customers, reflecting the broader industry trend of telecom operators pairing with AI innovators.
For Jio subscribers, activating the upgraded Jio Gemini AI Pro Plan is straightforward: users need only to download or open the MyJio app and click on the ‘Claim Now’ banner to begin enjoying the new features instantly.
